We give below the high-toned, bold, and
yet very discreet nddress which has just been
issued to tho torribly abused people of Fla. by
Chief Justice DuPont. It is worth a careiul
c perusal by tho citizens of every State in the
Union, but especially by those oi the South,
now under the heel of tho Mongrel despots, j

endure the wrongs which now oppress you,

I counsel you, in the' second place, to real

tion of that friendly relation, and,brotherly
love which formerly characterized-the inter
course between the two sections of the Union.
To those, therefore, of your follow citizcnB,
whether of the North, Eust or West, who may
visit our State, either for recreation or with

extend the right hnud of fellowship?meet
them with the? cordiality of restored friend

Finally, fellow-citizens, I counsel you to be
of good cheer, and cheerfully and zealously to
apply j'our every energy to the restoration of
our beautiful and lovely laud to the prosperity
which it once enjoyed. Bo assured that the
day of your deliverance draweth near, for
even now the voice of the nation is concen
trating, and will soon proclaim in thunder
tones your emancipation from foreign rule,
and the restoration of that priceless boon?the
right of sclf-governmeut! The poople of the
United States have beeu too well schooled in
the principlos of free government to tolerate
for any length of time "despotism," cither

of a Deed of Conveyance to him, from Rebecca
Murphcy, now Rebecca Wplfe, wife of James R.'
Wolfe, of a Tract of Land situate, lying und being
in the lurk of the Ediuto rivers, in the District
aforesaid, containing one hundred and ninety-three
(10<i) acres, more or less, and bounded by lands of
Wm. Barton, Daniel Smoak and lauds formerly
owned by Philip Joiner, deceased.
On motion of Messrs. Izlar & Dibble, Solicitors,
it is ordered, That all persons who deslro so to do,
appear and crosa examine tho evidence produced,
and introduce evidence in reply, before mo on thu
21st day of September, A. D. 1868.
