These false promises have boon used by corrupt inon, for Corrupt purposes, that we might be fooled and they get office. We have been duped long enough. If you vote for tho Democrats 3'ou vote yourselves back into slavery.1' "If you vote against the constitution made at Richmond you voto yourselves back into slavery." These statements arc all false, and these men know it. Slavery is abolished forever; nobody wishes to restore it ; the Constitution of the United States forbids it, aud the Dem ocratic party would not restore'it if thoy could. Slavery is gone, and the only fear of servitude to the coloured man is from the Loyal League, ruled by unknown adventurers who come like vultures from the North seeking carrioti. They aro our enemies at heart, they will make us slaves. They fool us; wo trust them, ar?4 Vote for them. They laugh at our folly aud wo perish. O, my coloured brethren, quit the League beforo it is too late ! Congress has done noth ing for us and intends to do northing for us. Tho Freedmeu's Bureau has done nothing for us and intends .to do nothing. Be perish while our uatural friends, the white men among_glioni we were raiqod. are yot willing to rent us lands to work, and to protect us in the enjoyment of our privileges. Just look at the men who come into tho League with white skins. Who arc they, and what do they conic for, *fcnd what will thy do for us? Thoy arc ilrones who have done nothing for themselves; spongers who would cat without work; men who have failed in every honourable cmplo}' mont. Thoy conic for office; they come that wo may serve them and not that they may serve us. They all want office, and they all are unworthy of ofiicu, incompetent men who wore novor heard of except as objects of con tempt till the loaguos wore formed. Thoy will do nothing for us.
