tions, the day being observed as a. holiday. Tho
market on Saturday opened Arm, with a fair de
mand on's basis of 80c, for middlings, holders In
mort oases asking higher rates. There was good
demand on Monday, with an advance In prides of
jo,. .On Tuesday the demand was vory limited, the
bettor grades wero ?rm, while the lower grades
were weaker. Very little was done on Wed
nesday. Iloh^rs wero, firm, and- asking prices
above the vitjws1 of buyers. " The market on
Thursday continued -quiet, holders, however, re
mainirig' firm. The sales for tho week- amount to
