On Friday the 2d instant, our market opened
with a good demand, and prices improved during
the day from l?ljc, On Saturdny the demand be
came acticc and excited, with a further advance of
K"*1JC- The news of a decline fn Liverpool and
New York on Monday, caused buyers to withdraw
from the market, and there were 00 sales made.
On Tuesday thcro was but one single sale made of
11 bales 28Jc. Buyers generally being indisposed
looperate on account of the declining tendency in
the leading markets. ' The market on Wednesday
continue very quiet, Ike only transaction being .116
bales on private terms. On Thursday owing to bet
ter news from Liverpool, buyers entered the market
and took some 300 bales on a basin of 20c. for mid
dling, when holders advanced their asking price*
to 30c., which buyers were unwilling to pay. The
vales for the week foot up some 4000 bales. In the
present Mute of the market we omit quotations.
