On Friday tbe 18th inst., very little was done in
our market, buyors wanting n concession that hold,
ers wore- nnwilling tc makb. Prices therefore were
very irregular and the market unsettled. On Sat
urday the market opened firm, with a good demand
at better prices. The sales made were on a basis of
8">c. for middlings, which was our closing quotation
for last week. The mark at. on Monday was unset
tied, and buyers' unable lo operato, at the asking
prices of heldcrs. On Tuesday tho market was de
pressed, end; bidders submitted to a decline of ' lc.
'The niaVket on! Wednesday Opened with a moderate
demand, bul became active during the day, at firm
prices.- On Thursday the market was dull, nnd
