On Frtdoy the 24th inst., our market opened
very nctive, and with a light oftcring stock, prices
improved to the extent of Jc. on our quotations of
last week. In tho early part of Saturday the mar
ket was rather quiet, but the demand increased
during tho day with a further improvement of \o.
On Monday there was only n moderate demand nt
unchanged prices. The demand on Tuesday became
active, buyers operating ou rather better terms for
the finer grades, while tho low qualities remained
firm and unchanged. The domaud continued nc
tive on Wednesday, nnd nil grades were taken nt
very full rates. The saino activity prevniled ou
Thursday, prices hardening to the extent of \c.
