spot happened to be in tho middle of ' Rice
Street," one of the imaginary highways of
Columbia, known only by being laid down as

Tho case of tho petitioner was ably advoca
ted by Hon. Jos. D. Pope; whilo with equal
ability.the City Council were represented by
Hon. e. J Arthur, (both gcntlomon of the
Columbia bar), who certainly made several
very strong points in favor of the munici
pal authorities of'the Capital. His Honor
Judgo Glover resorved Ids decision.
