To Bay that the people of Yoikvide are
indignant at the ave*c news puts it mildly.
They feel outraged, and st the same time
not a little discouraged. However, if the
county board of c ntrol lends itself to the
dirty work suggested by the Governor, and
this is not probable, for a majority of them
are law-abiding citizens, there is little room
to doubt that the voters will bury the
o'noxious scheme even deeper than before.
Yorkvillc Ins been a prohibition town for
more than ten years. All that while the
people have fought whiskey with a zeal clo e
akin to fanaticism, and for several years
past they have been priding themselves
upon having the dryest town in the State.
This prohibition sentiment pervades the
who'e county, and this effort to destroy at
