a charged with assaulting two young women
in the railway carriages, Bell has heretofore
hceu a clcrgyinm in good standing.
He is marriod and has three children, and
the charges against liim have excited the
greatest astonishment among those who have
attendod his ministrutions. One of his vietints
is mined ilrittain and tho other Abery.
The case is without ptrallel in that Bell appears
to have committed the two offenses in
two different compartments during one
journey.
The clergyman at first indignantly dented
his guilt, but afterward admitted having
been too ftmiliar with the girls, though he
fersistcd in the dm"al of crime. Jtt the
earing before the magistrates to-day sufficient
proof was adduced to justify a remand,
