A man was found dead in the rond with n bu let hole through his head, and his mule standing in the rond near by. Evidently a murder had been committed. A pistol was fonnd in one of the dead man's pockets, but none of the ohatnbers had been discharged, so it could not have been suicide. The eoroner was notified, and proceeded to impanel a jury of the negroes who gathered te the spot. A full investigation was made, without throwing any light on the crimo, however, and the case was given to the jury for its decision. Naturally a verdict that the deceased * catue to his death hv a pistol shot at ihe hands of unknown parties was expected.
