Farmers' Alliance warehouse in this city
^ wa< destroyed by fire at 11 o'clock to-nigbt
"^Clogqther with 144 bales of cotton, fifty tona
of guano and other things.
Tho building wns three stories high, and
had been finished and taken cbarge of by
the Alliance about two in inths ago.
The fire was discjvered in tho ascend
story, where the cotton was stored, and is
thought to hare been incondinry, although
it is strange how eny cue could hare gotten
inside to start it.
The streets of the c>ty arc in a terrible
condition, and the Lee steamer stuck in the
mud on the way to the fire The efforts of
Ihe firemen were directed to saving tho adjoining
building, and the spovd of tho fire
was checked by alight rain.

resolution of the Inst Gcncrnl Assembly, and

and industrial education of women. The
inaugural suggests that the commission ascertain
and report on the cost of an institution
for that purpose, with the probable annual
