few days, we hear that two of Edgefield's
delegates, despite the endorsement of Till
man i>y (he Convention, have gone over to

Cotton Stalk Hvuotsu.?A company has
been formed at Augusta, Ga., to work the
tib-e of the cotton stalk into a wrap for
cotton bnles. The capital stock of the company
will at the beginning be $">(>0,000, but
the charter asks the privilege of incre asitig
this to S">,O0d,0<K). The process will
necessitate decorticating machines at points
near the fields whore thoro is a supply of
clear running water. Here tho stalk is
quickly changed into batting, nntl can then
he baled and shipped to the factories, where
it will be spun and woven, after which it is
ready to bo rolled and sent to the market.
Ciiiil beyond question it is settled that cotton
stalk bagging is in every way acceptable
and desirable as a covering fur the tleccy
stap'e the operation of the process will be
confined tn Augusta. Hut it is claimed by
ilmsc \n the secret that hut one season wi'l
be required to demonstrate this fact. A

he scattered about in the Counties in Georgia
and South Carolina convenient to the
Augusta factory. The cotton stalk yield of

Democratic Convention for renomination.?
The trouble, it is said, has all grown out of

Hon. W. J. Talbert, of Edgefield County
State lecturer of the Farmers' Alliance,
will enter the race against Mr. Tillman.?
Capt. Hen Tillman, a brother of the Congressman,
told me that Mr. Talbert was
mistaken about his brother in taying be

Farmers' Alliance if he opposed the subtreasury

the French-Evcrsnle feud, which has caused
coutlnuous trouble and danger in that section
for many years. These leaders will be
held without bail for trial at Winchester.
The Judge of Winchester Court has the reputation
of having murdeiers convicted and
hanged. There are nine others, who have
been engaged in the feud, in the party
brought to Winchester and a number was
left uuder guard at Hazard.
