C., Not. 10, 1880. / WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the County Commissionera of Union county, signed by a majority of the freeholders of Sanluo Tawnship, of Union County, in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of South Carolina, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Chester, Greenwood and Abberille Railroad Company," asking that the question of "Subscription" or "No Subscription of the sum of twenty thousand dollars to the capital stock of said company, which subscription shall be made in ooupon bonds of said township, bearintt 7 per cent, interest and payable twenty years from the date thereof, as provided by said Act, be submitted to the qualified electors of said township. And further, that the funds realized on said bonds ts be expended exclusively in the construction of said railroad from a point on Broad River, near Wood's ferry, to Santuc, by the most practicable route through the township, to Clinton, in Laurena County. And whereas, the said Commissioners have, by a resolution of their Board, fixed the amount proposed to be subscribed, according to tlis request of snid petition, at twenty thousand dollars in 7 per cent, coupon bonds of said township; said bonds to be made payable twenty years after the dato thereof, as provided in said Act. It is hereby ordered that an election be held for said purpose, on Monday, the 27th day of December, 188G, and that the polls be opened at the various election preoinets within the said township of Santuc, from 7 o'clock a. m. until G o'clock p. m^of that day, at which election ,^^^M^all thejuuH^^^plectors of snid township shall written or printed thereon the words "Subscription" or "No Subscription." The managors of the last general election for the election precincts within said township are hereby appointed managers of the election herein ordered.
