CROSS KEYS TOWNSHIP.

WHEREAS, .a petition has been filed with
tbe County Commissioners of Union
County, signed by a majority of the freeholders
of Cross H eye Township, of Union County, In
accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of South Carolina, approved
the 20th day of December, 1884, entitled " An
Act to incorporate the Glenn Springs Railroad
Company," asking that the question of subscription
or no subscription of the sum of Fifteen
Thoueand Dollars to the capital stook oi
said Company, which subscription shall be
made in coupon bonds of said Township, bearing
0 per cent, interest, axyi payable in 15, 20
and 25 years after the dale thereof, as provided
by said Act, be submitted to the qualified electors
of said Township.
And further, that the-said rend run through
the center of said Township ; and farther, that
the fands realized on said bonds to be expended
exclusively in the construction of said Railroad
within the limits of said Township.
And whereat, Tbe said Commissioners have,
by a resolution of their Board, fixed the amount
proposed to be subscribed, aocording to the request
of said petition, at Fiftoen Thousand
Dollars, in six per oent. coupon bonds of said
Township, said bonds to be made payable in
equal installments of 15, 20 and 25 years, after
the date thereof, as provided in said Aot;
It is hereby ordered, That an election be
held for said purpose, on Tuesday, the 21st day
or ?aptember next (1886) ; and (hat the polls
be opened at the various election precincts
within the said Township of Cross Keys, from
7 o'clock A. M. until G o'clock 1*. M., of that
day, at which election all, the qualified electors
of said Towasbip shall be entitled to vote ; that
the ballots shall bare written or printed thereon
the words "Subscription" or " No Subscription."
The managers of the last general election
for the election precincts within said Township
are hereby appointed managers'of the eleotion
herein ordered.
Said managers shall make returns and ipeet
at the Court House of said county and count
the votes and declare the result of said electiop,
and certify the same to the Chairman of the
Board of County Commissioners of said county,
as provided by law, on or before Thursday,
28d day of September, 1880.
