CROSS KEYS TOWNSHIP.

Union, S. August 1.1. 1880. >
WIIKlll.AS, & petition lias been tiled with
the County Commissioners of Union
County, signed by a majority of the freeholders
of Cross Keys Township, of Union County, in
accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of South Carolina, approved
the 2Gth day of December, 1884, entitled " An
Act to incorporate the Glenn Springs Railroad
Company,' asking that the question of subscription
or no subscription of the sum of Fifteen
Thousand Dollars to the capital stock of
said Company, which subscription sha'l be
made in coupon bonds of said Township, bearing
G per cent, interest, and payable in 15, 20
and 25 years after tl*c date thereof, as provided
by said Act, be submitted to the qualified electors
of said Township.
And further, that the said road run through
the center of said Township ; and further, that
the funds realized on said bonds to be expended
exclusively in the construction of said Railroad
within the limits of said Township.
And irherraa. The said Commissioners have,
by a resolution of their Hoard, fixed the amount
proposed to be subscribed, according to the request
of said petition, nt Fifteen Thousand
Dollars, in six per cent, coupon bonds of snid
Township, eaid bonds to be made payable in
equal installments of 15, 20 and years, after
the date thereof, as provided in said Act ;
It is hereby ordered, That an olcction be
held for said purpose, on Tuesday, the 21st day
of Soptcmbcr next 1188G) ; and that the polls
be opened at the various election precincts
within tho said Township of Cross Keys, from
7 o'clock A. M. until G o'clock 1'. M., of that
day, nt which election all the qualified electors
of said Township shall be entitled to rote : that
the ballots shall have written or printed theroou
the words " Subscription " or " No Subscrin
tion."
The managers of the last general election
for tlic election precincts within said Township
are hereby appointed managers of the election
herein ordered.
Said managers shall make returns and meet
at the Court House of said county and count
the totes and declare the result of said clecticn,
and certify the same to the Chairman of tho
Hoard of County Commissioners of said county, I
as protided by law, on or before Thursday,
'J.'td day of September, ISSti.
