Council Ciiamdkr, \ Union, S. C., March 9th, 1880. j Be it ordained by the Town Council of Union, in the Stato of South Carolina, now met and sitting, and by the authority of the same : Sec. 1. That a tax of two mills upon every dollar of the value of all Real Kstate, stock in trade and. personal properly in the town of ITninn ho anil the same is herebv levied to meet the ordinary expenses of Iho Municipal government of said town for the fioial year commencing September 10th, 1885. Skc. 2. That the sum of one dollar and fifty cents be fixed as a commutation for street and road duty, and the said sum is hereby required to be paid by each and every able bodied male person between the ages of eighteen and fiftyfive years, who reside within the incorporate ' limits of said town. 8kc. 0. That the.Town Treasurer do proceed at once to collect the taxes herein levied, and that he shall keep his books open front the 12th day of April until the 12th of May, 1880, after which time he shall proceed by distress or otherwise, as prescribed by law, to collect such as remain unpaid, with a penally of twenty per cent. That the basis of values for the taxation of Heal Estate, Personal property and stock in trade, shall be taken from the books of the (Vtuntv Auditor for the year 1885. as far as it relates to the town of Union.
