bounty, signed by a'minority of the freeholders of
[Muckncy Township, of Uuion County, in accoriuneo
with the provisions of nn Act of the
3encrnl Assembly of South Carolina approved
Wd d.ty of December, A. D. 1b82, entitled "an
Vet to renew and amend nn Act entitled nn Act
o incorporate the Union, Oaffney City and Ruthirford
Railroad Company, approved March 18th
878, asking that the question of subscription I
>r no subscription of the sum of twenty thousand I
lollars to the capital stock ot said Company,
>ayable in Bonds of said Town (hip, as provided
>y slid Act, be submitted to the qualified elccors
of said Township. And further that "the
unds realized on said bonds to be expended
ixclusively in the construction of said Railroad
vithin l ho limits of siid Township. Said
mbscription to be made on condition that the
itailroad enter Pinckney township not more
ban one mile and a half from Skull Shoals Ford
in Pacolet River and run through the township
in the most practicable route.
And whereas, the said County Commissioners
lave, by a resolution of their 1$ iard, fixcJ the
imount proposed to be subscribed, acccording to
lie request of said Petition, at twenty thousand
dollars, in seven per cent. Coupon Bonds
if said Township ; said bonds to be made paya>le
iu equal installments of sixteen, twenty,
wenty-four and twenty eight years after tho
late thereof, as provided by said act.
It is hereby ordered, That an election bo held
'or said purpose, on Saturday, the 28th day of
luly next; and that tho polls be opened at the
rarious election precincts within tho said
Township of Pinckney from 7 o'clock A.
M., until 6 o'clock P. M., of that day, at which
ilcction all tho qualified electors of said Townihip
shall bo entitled to vote , that the ballots
iliall haze written or printed threon the words
'Subscription" or "No Subscription."
The Managers of the last general election for
ho election precincts within said Township, nre
aercby appointed Managers of the election hercn
ordered. Said managers shall make returns
ind meet at the Court Houso of said County and
sount the votes and declare the result of said
declion and certify the same to tho Chairman
>f the Board of County Commissioners of said
