tT the County Commissioners of Union
County, sigucd by a majority of the freeholders of
Piuckney Township, of Uuion County, in accordance
with tlie provisions of an Act of tne
General Assembly of South Carolina approved
28d day of December, A. D. 1882, entitled "an
Act to renew and nmend nu Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the Union, Gafl'ney City aud llutliJ
erford Railroad Company, approved March 18th
1878, asking that the question of subscription '
I or no subscription of the sum of twenty thousand
dollars to the capital stock ot said Company,
payable in Bonds of said Town -hip, as provided
hy said Act, be submitted to the qualified electors
of saiil Township. And further that "the
funds realized on said bond3 to he expended
within the limits of siid Township. Said
subscription to be made on condition that tiie
Railroad enter Piuckney township not more
than otic tuile and a half from Skull Shoals Ford
on l'acolet ltiver and run through the township
011 the most practicable route.
Am! whereas, the said County Commissioners
have, by a resolution of their 15 >ard, fixe.I the
amount proposed to be subscribed, acccording to
the request of said Petition, $t twenty thousand
dollars, in seven per cent. Coupon Bonds
of said Township ; said bonds to be made payable
in equal installments of sixteen, twenty,
twenty-four and twenty eight years after the
date thereof, as provided by said act.
It ix hereby ordered, That an election be held
for said purpose, on Saturday, the "8th day of
July next; and that the polls be opened at the
various election precincts within the said
Township of Piuckney from 7 o'ekvk A.
M., until t> o'clock P. M., of that day, at which
election all the qualified electors of sai.l Township
shall be entitled to vote , that the ballots
simii na7e written or printeu tiireon tnc words
"Subscription" or "No Subscription."
The Managers of the last general election for
the election precincts within said Township, are
hereby appointed Managers of the election herein
ordered. Said managers sho.ll make returns
and meet at the Court House of said County and
count the votes and declare the result of said
election and certify thu same to the Chairman
of the Hoard of County Commissioners of said
County, as provided by law, on or before Tuesday,
the :ilst day of July A. I). 188:1.
