Bo it ordainc 1 by the Town Council of Union, in the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting, and by the authority of the same, That any person who shall sell any Liquors, Spirituous, Vinous or Malt, within the Town of Union, shall, upon trial and conviction, be fined, for each and every offence under this Ordinance, not less than twenty-five ('2-3) dollars nnd not more than one hundred (lt'O) dollars, or be imprisoned not less than thirty (150) days, or both, at the discretion of theCouncil. J'rovided that uothing herein contained shall prevent the filling, by any licensed Druggist, of any prescription in good faith, tnade by any licensed practicing I'bysician ; ami prooidee further, that no prescriptions containing intoxicating liquor, in any quantity, shall be filled unless a licensed practising I'bysician shall endorse thereon over his own signature a certificate in writing that the prescription is for use in sickness otdy, and is necessary. That all prescriptions containing intoxicating liquor in any quantity, filled by any Druggist, shall, together with the record of the names of persons to whom delivered and for whose use filled, be exhibited by such Druggist on the first Monday in each and every calendar month, to the Council fur inspection; nnd upon failure so to do. each and every Druggist shall, upon trial and conviction, be fined, for each and every otfense, not less than twenty-five (2,3) dollars, and not more than one hundred (100) dollars, or be imprisoned not less than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion ofthe Council.
