To Restrain and Regulate the tale of Liquors,
mid to Regulate the sale of Drugs and Medicines.
Sue. I. Do >t ordaincl by the Town Council of
Union, in the State of Soutu Carolina, now met
and silting, and by the authority of the same,
That any person who shall sell any Liquors,
Spirituous, Vinous or Malt, within theTowu of
Union , shall, upon trial and conviction, be
fined, for each und every oft'cnco under this
Ordinance, tiot less than twenty-five ('26) dollars
nuu uoi more than one hundred (100J dollars, or
be imprisoned not less than thirty (30) days, or
both, ill tlie discretion of the Council. J'rovidcJ
that nothing herein contained shall prevent the
tilling, by any liceused Druggist, of any prescription
in good faith, made by auy licensed practicing
Physician ; and providee further, that no
p <. -.criptious containing intoxicating liquor, in
iny quantity, shall be tilled unless a licensed
practising Physician shall endorse (hereon over
ins own signature a certificate in tvritiug thai
the prescription is for use in sickness only, and
is necessary.
Sec. 2. That all prescriptions containing intoxicating
liquor in any quantity, filled by any
Druggist, shall, together witti the record of the
miuies of persons to whnin dclive ed and for
\vh so use tilled, ho exhibited by such Druggist
on the first Monday in eacli an l every calendar
mouth, to the Couucil for inspection; and upon
taiiurc so to do, each and every Druggist shall,
upon trial aud conviction, be fined, fort baud
