The girl Jiad been sick for several days and died this morning from the effects of the wounds. There Is no.olue to the perpetrators of the bloody act. A Man Found Murdrrrd.?Salt Lake City, Utah, July 22.?John Turner, son of Sheriff Turner, of Utah, was found murdered near Echo City. It is believed the crime was commitTted by a tramp named Frederiok Weloome, of whom fbe father is now in pursuit. Welcome had twice been arrested by Sheriff Turner for horso stealing, and had threatened the Sheriff's dife. A Bold Bank Robbery.?Detroit, Mich., July 22.?A bold robbery was committed at the private bank of Fisher, Preston & Co., in this xsity. this afternoon. While the clerk, Fred D. Gifford, was alone, a stranger appeared at the -opening of the wire screen in the counter and expressed a desire to buy some government bonds. As Mr'. Gifford was about to reply, the iStranger suddenly reached through the aper^ tureand struck him in the temple with a slung* >shot. The blow felled him to the floor, and temporarily rendered him insensible. William LUy was the oldest son of the late genial And venerable Rev. Thomas Kay, who for many iears was the most prominent minister of the iptist Church in Union County and the beloved Pastor of Padgett's Creek Church. The ?oa inherited the genial disposition of the father suid was la all circles a pleasant companion; He was an amiable, kind hearted gentleman, an Affectionate husband, a de voted father and a good oil i ten. In early life he was for aeveral years e.tgaged successfully in mercantile pursuits. For four .years he held Ike office of Clerk of the Court /or Union County, and discharged the arduous duties of that responsible office, faithfully and acceptably. After leaving Union, he married that estimable lady, Miss Martha Law, of Newberry Co., And devoted the remainder of his life to Agri cultural pursuits, in which he was remarkably cueeessful. lis was in all respects a temperate man?temperate in his tastes, in his habits, nnd In his opinions. During many years of intimate friendship we oannot recall an unkind or uncharitable word towards any one. Ilis chief desire seemed to be to pass quietly through life, without giving offence by word or deed.
