^ The Judicial Convention.?The J udicial Con ^ vention should be culled to meet in Spartauburg Each one of the other counties has n candidate and it would be unfair to hold the convention it a town where a candidate was residing, becausi a sense of courtesy and hospitality would prevent hint front doing his very best. Lei the Chair men of our counties call it at Spartanburg, where our aspirants after the honors of the Solicitor's office may spread themselves. We di not even have a dark horse tied out here on the suburbs of our town.?Spartan. We agree with our neighbor. Spartanburg is the place, under the circumstances, at which the Judicial Convention should be held. No such hent has been known there in June for the past ceutury. 207 deaths have been reported in the city during the . past twenty-four hours. This is the highest hiortnlity yet recorded this year, and lias not often been exceeded in the heated seasons of former years. The summary of deaths for the last seven days shows a total of 1,0:58. Jas. Jamicson died in Mecklenburg County on Friday, nnd was buried here to-day. He was for fifty years a Methodist iuinister in North Carolina and Virginia, nnd for many years college president in Danville. The funeral cortege was very large and imposing, an immense concourse of people being in attendance.
