Mr. Editor As there has been nothing said
about the selection 6f our County Officers and
as it is getting lime to look out for competent
men to fill the different positions, therefore, in
order to put tho ball in motion, I will suggest
the following ticket, and in tho mean time will
say that this selection has been made with the
view of getting men that will do their duty fearlessly,
and at the same timo have an eye sirgle
to the interest of their constituents :
Of course it is understood that Hon. T. B.
Jeter will be nominated for Lieutenant-Governor
upon the State ticket, which will make a vacancy
in the Senate. In that event, I suggest William
Munro, Esq., as his successor.

About one party nominating a whole County
ticket, thinking or hoping the "first birds will
catch all the worms." We hare nothing to say
against any of the men put in nomination in
your last week's paper. They are all first rate
men ; but as many persons in the County have
known for some time that Rev. J. 8. BAILEY
was a candidate for the office of School Commissioncr,
we now ask you to please publish
the same. Mr. Bailey has spent tho prime of
his life in preaohing to the poor ; and has often
been necessitated to undergo the heavy burden
of teaching and preaching at the same time.?
While he heeds the office his friends do not
put his name in nomination on this ground
Alone ; but on his own merits. We feel that ho
is competent to discharge the duties of the office
and will do so as faithfully and as well as
any man in the County. MANY VOTERS.
