We have nothing to say against any of the men put in nomination in your last week's paper. They are all first rate iren ; but as many persons in the County have known for some time that Iter. J. S. BAILEY was a candidate for the office of School Commissioner, we now nsk you to please publish the same. Mr. Bailey has spent the prime of his lifo in preaching to the poor ; and has often been necessitated to undergo the heavy burden of teaching and preaching at the same time.? While he needs the office his friends do not put his name in nomination on this ground aiono ; but on hts own merits. C., April 6, 1880. j A CONVENTION to be composed of three Delegates from each township is hereby ordered to assemble at Union Court House on Tuesday, 25th May 1880, at eleven o'olock A. M., to elect delegates to the State Convention, to the Judiciat Convention, to the Congressional ^ Convention, to elect a County Chairman nnd County Executive Committee, and to transact such other business as may be proper. Township meetings of Democrats shall be held on Saturday 22d May, 1880, ateleven o'clock A. M., at the following named places respectively, to wit: Timber Ridge, Old Bridge Place, Kelly's Mill, Jonesville, Jasper Glbbs's, Cross Keys, Union Court House, Kantuc, Fish Dam, Goshen Hill. Said meetings shall be called to order by the following named Club Presidents, respectively, vis: Timber Ridge, by Noah Webster; Old Bridge Place, by Milton Patrick ; Kelly's Mills, by Thomas Comer; Jonesville, by W. T. Littleton ; Jasper Gibbs's, by J. F. Norman ; Cross Keys, by 0. B. Bobo; Union, by F. M. Farr ; Santuc, by George B. Tucker; Fish Dam, by J. C. Richards; Goshen Hill, by R. B. Lyons.
