Over One-Half of the male portion of the
American people 45 years of age suffer more or
less with diseases of the Kidueys nnd Bladder.
There are various causes for this, but over work
is the chief cause. Nothing in the whole .Materia
Medica is so well calculated to invigorate
JP and restore healthy tone to these organs as Rankin's
Compound Extract of Ruchu and Juniper.
A few doses taken occasionally will greatly tcucfit
all those who are afflicted with any disease
of the Kidney or Bladder.
Prepared only by Hunt, Rankin & Lamar,
Druggists, and for sale by J. M. Uibbes & Co.

DESPERADOES IN PENNSYLVANIA?New York,
April 3.?A special to an evening paper from
Heading, Pa., says ; The people of lloneybrook
Township, Chester county, arc in a terrible state
of alarm over the depredations of a band of
West Mountain thieves who are burning their
barns and driving off their sleek. The marauders
robbed the county school house of a large
"bible and nailed it to a tree and posted a notice
with a skull and cross bones attached, stating
'that if the mounted police followed them up to
'make arrests fearful desolatiou would at once
' follow. A number of the members of thedetec tivc
company have had their horses and cattle
poisoned.
k Indecent Assault.?Mr. P. B. Glnss, formcrW
ly a prominent merchant of this city, was
brought before Trial Justice Marshall aud bound
over yesterday, in the sum of $500, to answer
to a charge of committing an indeceut assault
and battery 'on a little white girl, ten years old,
on last Tuesday nflernoon. The hearing was
only a preliminary one, and the case will have
a judicial examiuatiou and full trial in the Circuit
Court. The mother of the little girl was
committed to the Lunatic Asylum night before
last, in consequence of the distress of mind occasioned
by the occurrence.?Col. Register.

your "Neuralgine" in several instauces, and
find it is the best remedy for neuralgia I have
ever tried. It releaves the pain and leaves nunc
of those unpleasant effects due to narcotics or
anodynes. I shall always keep it in my otiice,
and tako much pleasure in recommeuding it to
my patients. S. G. Holland, Dentist,

Fink Stock.?We would advise all who love
fine stock to call and see the Cow and Calf belonging
to Mr. A. G. Means. The calf is certainly
a beauty, both in regard to weight and
appearance. The cow gave in one day about
seven quarts (?) of milk. The calf weighed, at six
months old, 408 pounds ; and when weighed a
day or two ago turned tho scales at 741 pounds.
We would like to know if any farmer in Spartanburg
can beat this. They arc worth comiug
to see.?Spartanburg Herald.
Accident on the Western North Carolina
Railroad.?Statesvillc, N. C., March 24.?
There was a great land slide on the mountain
side at Blue Ridge, at Mud Cut, this morning,
The construction train was overwhelmed aud
three men were instantly killed. Two were convicts,
and one a guard. The bodies were mangled
horribly. The track sank without an instant's
warning, uuuer the moving train.?

the comfort nud beauty of home as the cultivation
of flowers. Nor docs anything add more
to the beauty and comfort of man or woman,
than the roses on the checks of those iu good

Washouts.?Serious washes occurred along
the line of the Air Line Road on Monday, the
trains being delayed as long as twelve hours.?
The Greenville train was delayed four hours
from the same cause, but the break was repaired
aud communication uninterrupted.
Printers' Strike.?St. Louis, April 5.?
Three or four hundred printers struck to-day
for $2.50 per day. Their wages have heretofore
been $2 and $2.25. Five bosses who employ
about two hundred hands have acceded to the
demand.
?
Land Si.idk on the Aik-Link.?Owing to a
slide or two on the Air Line Road theday trains
Sunday did not run, and the others have been
irregular since the time. It will be all right in
a few days and then everything will run in the
usual clock-work style.
