The Late Fair.
? It was gruuTying to us to witness the disin' | ^
terested liberality exhibited by a number of the j
viaitorn and oxhil iters nt our talc County Fair.
The numbers upon the grounds were not as lirge
as at former Fairs, nor was tko exhibition, in
those departments of the men's productions, as
large, but it was a very creditable exhibition,
und^vve are not ashamed of it. Those who par
lioipated, ns simple visitors or as exhibitors,
4 wore of the right sort to form a nucleus around
which all the enterprising, liberal and progressive
people of the County will be bound to gather
and make the Fairs hereafter icci led sue
cesses. The absentees were noted and t lie causes
of their absence com incut ed on and universally
( pronounced selfish and narrow minded. A
group of five or six good, liberal minded Farm"
ers present, united in the assertion made by one
of llicm, that "the grumblers and dissatisfied
f tt'mulU not break down the County Association

thing, a* they wanted and take premiums upon '
everything they exhibited. They forgot or ig- \

1 Such men have not the general gotel of the '
County at heart ami, no doubt, chuckled over
the idea that if all men of their .-selfish notions i
would stay away from the Fairs, as they <Ii>I '
last week, they would break the County Association
up. (iciitlemcn, don't flatter yourselves
