Fur the Tint *. Letter From Jouesville. Mk. Kimtou : ?I sec other Townships arc giving some news items to tlie /i/has, Imt none has ?ppeared of lute frotn Joncsvillci so 1 will give you a few items in my utibiukcii liiHttncr. t'rop prospects ure very flattering up to date. Cotton lists been well workeil ntnl is looking well. Wheat goo 1 sttol most till cut.? Oats better fbuii one would expect from the fact that we have had a very dry spring, barely rain enough for corn and cotton, but that was all the belter, for si wet Spring with the heavy crop put in, the grass would have taken us. We have si good scliot 1 in Jouesville now, mostly on the female order, as our teacher is a female and one well qualified for that iinportsint position, Miss Leila liailey. This is her first year with us and we hope to keep her another year, but we fear she will give herself away and we will lose her valttsible services. Several of we Jonesvilli folks went on an excursion ycslerdsiy to llerdcrsonville, N. C., which was very enjoyable indeed. The good cold water ; the niountsiin scenery and the kind reception by the good people of llendersoiivillc, made the ilsiy a pleasant, profitable and happy one. All returned safe and sound, except two or tlirec unfortunate cows that remained on ttic railroad tract* just it lectte loo long. Wc hear you arc having Court nt Union, but we are just too busy to attend. Hope the Lawyers may all lie successful altd gain all their cases. 1 will not say much about the working of the stock law at. present, front the fact that Jonesvillc is not a very healthy place to discuss the law, unless you oppose it ; but another year may work a change in the minds of many of its opponents. l'erhaps my communication may draw out others.
