Upon the disclousurc of this nefarious, attempt Ferguson became greatly enruged, and procuring a shotgun, which he charged heavily with buckshot, lie went to where the woman ia question was at work and shot her down without warning.? This was on the 13th. The shot took effect in tlio woman's head and fuce, and she expired in stuntly. Ferguson fled immediately, nud it is presumed he is yet non est inventus.?Cor. A Rich Goi.u Mink.?We learn from private sources that the obi Rriggs gold mino, situated in King's Mountain, partly in York County, S. t\, and partly in Gaston County, N. C., is now turning ? ?? the richest ore which has yet been found in either of the Carolines. A ton of the ore recently shipped to Philadelphia is said to have assayed $400 in pure gold.
