March 21 12 4t An Ordinance to Baise Supplies An Ordinance to Raise Supplies for the fecal year commendwig the 10ih of September, 1878. Suction 1. Be it or Jain erf by the Intendant And Wardens of the Town of Union, in Council Assembled, and by authority of the same, That a tax of one mill upon every dollar of all Real Estate and Stock in Trade in the Town of Union, be and the samo is horeby levied, to meet the ordinary expenses of the Municipal Government of said Town, for the fiscal year couimcucing 10th September, 1878. Sko. 2. That the sum of one dollar and a half is fixed as a commutation for Street or rood duty, and the said aum is hereby required to be paid by each and every able-bodiel male person between the ages of eighteen and fifty years, who reside within the cooporate limits of said Town. Sao. 8. That the Town Treasurer do commence at once to collect the taxes herein levied, and that ho keep his books open until the 20th day of April, 1870, aAer which time he shall proceed by distress or otherwise, as presoribed by law, to oollect such as remain unpaid, together with a penally of twenty per cent. Mules, Asses, Ocnets, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep or Goats, found running at large on any of the streets or vacant lots it: the Town of Union will bo impounded by the Town Marshal, and at the expiration of five days sold at public outcry, to pay the expenses of such impounding; tlio excess of such sales,1'if any, to be deposited to the credit of the Town Council, to be given to the owner of the property sold, upon the same being demanded withiu sixty days after such sale.
