An investigation by tho board of health showed that there had been at the naval hospital six cases of disease pronounced to bo yellow fever, three of which had proved fatal.. Three patients are now in the hospital, Michael Flynu nnd U. F. Olney, sailors, nnd Michael Carroll, landsman. Four rcvcuue officials, while in search of Redmond, the illicit distiller, killed, in self-defence, a man named Ladd, in whose house Redmond was concealed. They were indicted for murder. An attempt was made to have the case transferred to the United States Court. This having been positively refused, the attorneygeneral announced that ho would direct the the United States marshal to take out a writ of habeas corpus for tho transfer of the prisoners.
