It. Richardson, atnembcr of the graduating class
of last year, who came back with fresh laurels
from Vauderbilt University, having received the
gold medal for oratory in that institution last

that Mr. C. 1*. Wotford reached home during
Wotford commencement with a gold modal from

the guilty parties.
About 8 o'clock a crowd of men took the prisoners

Effects Truly Wonderful.
Cartkusvii,lk, Ga., April 20, 1809.
This will certify that, two members of my 1
immediate family, after having suffored for many
years from menstrual irregularity, and having v
been treated without benefit by various medical '
doctors, were at length completely cured by one
bottle of Dr. J. Dradlicld's FEMALE IIKGULATOD.
I therefore deem it my duty to furnish
this certificate, with tlie hope of drawing attention
of suffering womciikind to tho merits of a j
medicine whose power in euring irregular and
suppressed menstruation, has been proven nil- (]
dcr my own personal observation. Its effect on .
such cases is truly wonderful, and well may the
remedy he called "Woman's Dcst Friend."

because of the enormous expense of importing .

two cents per dose is cheap enough after all for .
a medicine that euros dyspepsia and liver complaint.

A New Breaimtcff.?The seed of broom corn,
ivhioh has hitherto been considered useless, ex;ept
for plautiug and an inferior food for cattle,
lias been discovered to be valuable as a brcaditutf.
It was first used as a substitute for wheat
iu 1870 and 1871, but like many other good
:hings, was lost sight of, and its manufacture
was never carried to success, and never became
sven partially known until about three years ago.
l'hc yield of flour is about one-half in place of
wo-thirds from wheat. The bran is also as valuable
as wheat bran as a food for animals. The
lour cannot bo told frotn whent flour, and the
jrcad, cake, etc., is delicate, inviting and delinous,
and easily digested. The yield of broom
torn seed is also enormous, a single spear often
)roducing a pint of seed, and the yield has
'cached five hundred bushels to the acre, while
t is safe to estimate the average at one hundred
mshels.
