Th? disaster that occurred on the Atlauta and Charlotte Air-Line Hail way on Friday night resulted in a general "smash up" of the ongine and considerable damage to the train. The eugineer, Thomas 1'. Smith, by his heroic ntten>' tion to his duty, saved the lives of others, while by it he sacrificed his own.
