Persons or firms liable to pay any of tho Special
Taxes named above must apply to L. CASS
CARPENTER, Collector of Internal Revenue, at
Columbia, and pay for and procure the Special-Tax
Stamps they need, prior to May 1, 1877,
and without further notice.
Special-Tax Stamps will be transmitted by
mail only on receipt from the person or firm ortbgcther

tho amount required to pay the postnge. The
psstngo on one stamp is three cents and on two
stamps six cents. If it is desired that they be
transmitted by registered mail, ten csuts additional
should accompany tho application.
