MEMORIAL DAY?
Next Saturday. 21st inst, has been
chosen as memorial day with us -thc
day lor our people to visit thc graves ol
our heroic dead and make our floral of?
ferings at the shrino of patriotism and
political principle. It is a mournful
but beautiful pleasure. The offering of
flowers is a fitting tribute to the worth
of these departed heroes-their per?
fume, innocence and beauty, picturing
the virtues of these martyred ones. Thc
frosts of death have dipped tho flower
plants, but their virtues, un?
touched by death have been transplant?

in penennial beauty. While the fair
band of sister, mother and friend shall
scatter flowers over the graves, tho
flowers of our hearts shall shed a richer
fragrance, and we will embalm their
brave deeds in our memory and have it
as a keepsake forever.
