A WON?KHFUL TRANSACTION.
The singular financial transaction
t. occurred io one of the dock offices, in
Buffalo, a day or two since. By some
meaos*or other it happened .that the
office boy owed ono of the dorks three

teats, and the cashier owed the
offioe boy two cents. One day last week
the offioe boy having a ecnt in his
pocket, concluded to diminish bis debt,

debt by giving tho oom to the cashier.
The latter handed the cent back to the

SOLVED BONE PHOSPHATE, is the basis of all good Fertilisers, and these are valuable in the
ratio of Soluble Phosphorlo Aoid whioh is in them. *
The immense deposits of Phosphatid Guanos which were discovered in 1807 in Sontb Carolina,
by Dr. PRATT, consists mainly of Insoluble Phosphate of Lime, whioh is made available as a Fer?
tiliser by boing ground to powder, and reduced by Sulpburio Aoid to suoh a condition as to make
its insoluble phosphate 8'iluble in water, and thus made capable of being taken up by growing
plants. The insoluble Phosphate found in any commercial Fertiliser is of no more value to the
plant than the original Phosphate rock. The greater the proportion of this Soluble Phosphate
which any Fertilizer oontains, the less the quantity required por aero, and consequently the oheapost
Fertiliser is that containing the highest per centage of Soluble Phosphate.

with Peruvian Qunno-coating $112 per ton-and in the same quantity, and the difference waa eea
aiderable, being in favor of tbe Fertiliser. The Colton grew from two to three inches taller, ul
was bolled in proportion.
Mr. Fowlor. on? of our best formers, and elosest and most accurate observers, told me he trisi
Peruvinn Guano, Soluble Pacido, Wando Fertilizer, and six or seven others, the ehaapeat of anita
coat $65 per ton, and Crichton's Fertilizer beat them all.
