Court convened last Monda y at 10
o'clock, his Honor, Judge J. J. Norton,
presiding. Solicitor Aisel and Stenogra
pher Wyatt Aiken, were promptly in their
places.
The clerk called over the grand jury and
found all present. The petit jury was
called and thirty-six answered.
The Solicitor handed out the following
indictments:
The State vs. John Winn, housebreaking
and larceny. The State vs. John Allen,
aR8sault and battery with intent to kill.
The State vs same for intent to kill. The
State vs. Jackson and Micheal Morton,
murder. The State vs. Sallie Green, as
sault and battery of a high aid aggravated
nature.
The Judgc's charge to the grand jury
was short. lie called their attentiou to
their generi (ties.
Tile Solicitor entered a nol. pros. in Ihe
case of the State vs. Frank Wells afnd
Hannah Young for fornication. Nol. pros.
was also entered in the case of the State vs.
W. 1. amilton.
T. J. u1tm was exeused from serving as
a pet it juror on account of the severe ill
Iess of his mother.
The first case called for trial was the
StAte vs. M. 8. Hastings for injury to the
bridge at Old Pickens hy floating logs
dowi the stream. .J. P. Carey r)resenited
thet defendant and th veit Was not1
guilty.
