Obituary.
JitnmIe Johnston, the nineteen year old
son of Mr. S. M. anl Mrs. Ellen Johnston,
near Major, died on the 12th inst.
He suffered only two days, which caused
him to say "Let me be easy; I aan ready
and willing to go; meet me in Ileaven.
le had been a meniber of Sharon M. E.
church for nine years. He lived his pro.
fesslon in every day life. As a school
mate I have found none more honest, up
right and social than Jiainic. He was un
pretentious, Unassuming, and at all times
showed a spirit of humility. After a most
appropriatV funeral service by iev. T. C.
O'D1el, the remains were laid to rest in tho
Sharon graveyard. We tender our heart
felt sympathies to the bereaved family and
friends. Our loss is Jiimmie's gain.

A New Church.
The people near It. L. Glistrap's are pre
paring to build a Metho(list church. They
have already cleared off the ground. It is
hoped that the new house of worship will
be ready for the <piarterly meeting to be
held in Alay. Brother It. L. Gilstrap and
others are harI at work. There is much
elcou1ragenent in getting a new church at
the old McKinney Chapel. One thousand
Feet of lunher was subscribed to the
chmurch last Sablath. The chirch hasthree
acres of ground at this place.

Russell, died at her home near Marietta, on
Saturday night. She was 70 years old and
was a nemiber of the Marietta Baptist
church. She was buried Monday in the
graveyatld of Ebenezer church. She leaves
a number of children to mourn her loss.
