PICKENS SENTINEL. LOCAL NEWS. -Dig potitof-the moon is right. -Diss Lilla Breazeale, of Belton, Is vis iting her sister, Mrs. G. W. Earle. -Dr. J. F. Bruce, of Easley, will spend the winter in Fl'orlda for bis health. --The first day for tax paying, last Tues day, 048.90 was paid into the treasury. -A small child of Jeff Calhoun, color ed, of Liberty, died last Sunday morning, -Mrs, John T. Price, of Liberty, visited her Muother-in-law, Mrs. T. R. Price, this Week. -The first frost of the scagort came last Tuesday night, but no damage to the crops is reported. -Mollie, the wife of Floyd Price, col ored, died Monday, and was buri!d the following day at Cold Springs. -Mr. Geo. W. Miller, the genial insur knce agent, of Anderson, was in town this Week, "viewing the landscape o'er." -The notice of reduced rates to Synod Was received too late for publication. Sy nod convened in Sumter last Tuesday. -The cabbage and fruit wagons are be ginning to come from "over the hills." These crops4re reported good this fall. -Archittect Mitchen has been asked to submit plans and speciflcations for a $50, 000 court house for blharpe county, Ark. -Mr. Tom Alexander, of the Keowee side, passed through town last Friday with u drove of twelve beef cattle for the Green *ille market. -Win. Evatt, of the Olenoy section, was held for court isst Tuesday by the U. S. Commissioner, and in default of bail Was committed to jaill. -Hense Byrd and Joe Hendricks have hlie contract for removing the bodies from the Methodist church yard and reburying them in the town cemetery. -There were two accessions to the Bap tist Church at this place last Sabbath. They were baptized by innersion by Rev. W. B. Bingleton at the Griflin mill. -Married, by Rev. T. C O'I)ell, at the residence of the bride's mother, on the 15th instant, Mr. M. A. Boggs, ot Liberty, to Miss Lucy Dunwoody, of Andersou county -The new Methodist church tt Central, will be dedicated on the s(cond Suntiay in November. Bishop Danan will preach the dedication sermon. The public is invi ted to attend. -Thosc!owing V. A. Hunter, deceased. for work tiil confer a great favor on his widow and orphans by settling their le counts at once. It was sold to Hagood, Bruce & Co. -Special attention is called to the P. S. to Hagood, Bruce & Co's advertisement this week.
