An Earnest Appeal.
At the recent session of the South
Carolina Conference, the Directors of
the Williamston Female College pro
posed to give to the Conference the
absolute control of the College pro
petty iso l6ng as it should be used for
the maintenance of a Female College
of high grade under the auspices of
the Jonference, provided the Presi
(lent of the College should pay to the
Directorsan annual rental of six hund.

of Education, and adopted by the

"Resolved first, that, if, at the next
session of tl:e Conference, the Direct

to the property and appurtenances of

ing that, if t he Conference shall cease
to use'tbe pr-mises for the mainten
of a Female College of high grade,

agrees to accept the property and en
dorse the college as one of its instltu
