M., attended the meeting f the Grand Lodge in Anderson yesterday. -Business in real oitate has been brisk here for the past week, and sever I plots of laud have been sold at good prices. -Taxes are being paid very slow, and the treasurer has had rather a dull time no far. About one-third of the oney has been paid in. -The Pickens Mission of the M. E. Church has been abolished, and Rov. E. M. Merritt has been sent to the West Anderson circuit. -Our now court houso is assured. The bill has passed both branches of the General Assembly and will be among the first approved. -We have applications every week for information about farms for sale and rent. if you want to telI or lease, let it be known. .-The many friends of Mr. Will W. Griffin are pleased to learn that his brok en limb is fast getting well, and he will be able to get out soon. -The State Grand Lodge A. F. M. met in Anderson last Tuesday. A grand banquet at Hotel Chiquola was one of the featuies of the occasion. -None but a sneak and galoot would intercept and break into a dispatch that did not belong to theni. -That old "chestnut" of the pig weighing three or four hundred pounds is played out.
