A SPECINEN OF PLEJUDIVE.
The best specimen of political
prejudice wo havo yet seen in print,
appeared in one of the Shell circulars
in the fourth District. It appeals to
the farmers to turn out and vot. for
S1hl on the ground that the anti
Tilhman men will not care a snap for
their defeat iu the State, if they can
only secure the defeat of Shell. The
ci-ciar does not want Shell elected
becauso he is a good man-nothing
like that, but because it is the only
way to keep Tillman's opponents
clagrined or uider back.
Those who got up the circular must
have gono plimb wild. Thy say if
Shell is not nominated that Tihi1an
will not. be elected (overior. We
have scen newspapers lie, but thi.;
takes the cake from aly journalistiv
Ananiasi that ever dealt in real estate.
It is as had as Shell's circular which
told the farmers that their lives de
pended on Tillinan's election. Wll,
well! As Abraham Lincoln said:
"Thank the Lord, you can't fool the
people all the time."
