We hoard Senator Talbert on the
sub-treasury bill, and in a measure
he removed from our mind ono seri
oUS objection to it. As we first read
the bill it provided for the appoint

Secretary of the United States Treas
ury. The bill which Senator Talbert
advocates provides for the election of
this oflicor by the people. But still
we are opposed to it or "any scheme
similar to it." This opposition is not
born of any legal depravily, nor of
the fact that the editor of the SENTI
NE, is not eligible to the Alliance.
But we oppose it for the simple rea
