of the State Legislaturo commences oi
Tuesday next. The meetings of this
body have, for some years past, attracted
much attention from the peoplo of the
State. It is saf' to say that at no time
has there been more done in the way of
mapping out work for the General Ae
sembly than has been done by writers,
speakers and new spapera during the pua:t
six months. Of courFo it is not expcoted
that the Legilaturo shall consider all the
suggestions offered, to the extent of
formulating each in a bill to be acted on
in the committee room. But there aio
some matters on which, by general con
sent, the body will be expected to pass.
And these matters, with tho miscellane
ous business incident to every seriw,
will keep the two houses busy for the
thirty-three days between the da y of
meeting and Christmas. A reassembliu
of the body, after a short holiday, is not
improbable.
