teach the Shady Grove School in
Eastatoe Township. Ono of the trus
tees, Rev J. T. Lewis, promised the
aclool to Mr. W. J. Boggs last spring.
This summer Miss Corrie Ellif not
knowing anything about the prom
ise to Boggs, applied for the school
and receiVcd the endtorsement of a
miajority of the patrons. Mr. Iewis
not wishing to decide the matter
himself, ieferred the question to the
full board. The school wa; awarded
to Miss Ellis and the school register
delivered to her. A few days after
wards this action was annulled and
the school awarded to Mr. Boggs.
From this action there was on appetl
to the County Board. The County
Board heard the case, and sent it
back to the ti-ustees with instructiuns
to hold an election for teachtr. This
election was held on the 3d inst., and
resultcl Boggs 11, Miss Ellis 7. ii
is said that several who wero suppor
ters of liss Ellis had 1no notice of
