Hlaynes, who lives within one mile
of this ptace went mad last week, J

A fine setter, white. and orange I
spotted, belonging to Xujor Lewis i
of this place, went mad and ran qff I
last Wednesday week He passed
by Mr. P. A. Porter's and bit two

Herd's, where he bit others; troil I
there he went to Mr. Newton's on
Crow Creek and *6 i all of his dogj;
from there he erossed the Keowee
river into. Oconee County. and we
hear would have bitten a ebild had
it not been for another dog near the
L-hild which ran in, seized the 'mad
dog and drove him off. How many
uther dogs, or how many other
brutes he may have bitten is not
known. It is. likely that he bit
nearly every dog along the route
he paod. Thbse known to have
been bitten by him should be killed
at once, and all othero along the
route he traveled should be either
killed or securely tied or fastened

ments. He bit Capt. Thornley's
dog before leaving town, and the t
Captain had his dog killed as soon
ias he learned the fact. The country
seems to be full of mad dogs, and
