Folger and her sister, Mrs. Lucretia Lawrence, which occurred at this place on Wednesday the~ 4th inst. Mrs. *Lawrence, who resides at, Seneca City, camne to this place t~o see her * sister, Mrs. Folger, dur'ing her illness, and being in feeble health, was taken ill herself as soou as she arrived, and took her bed in. an adjoining room to that, in whieh her sis ter lay, but did not see her after she arrived. Drs. Earle of this plac oe and Maxwell of Greenville, were the attending physicians, bub all their skill failed. Mrs. Folger died at 4 o'clock p. in., and Mrs. Lawrence at 6.80 just one hour and a half later. Mrs. Folger died of puerperal,~Cepticomuia, and othe r complications. Mrs. Lawrence died of con gestion of tine lungs and liver.. Mrs. Folger was the wife of Mr. Julius F. Folger of this place and was 88 years old.-. She leaves, be'sides her sorrowing husband, four little children, an aged mnother, a broth er and several sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her deat.h. She was the daughter of tine late Pletpant Alexander of Old Pickens District, and early in life attached herself to the Presbyterian church and ever after lived ~a pious and devoted ghnristiann life. She wans an affectionatec mother a kind friend and neighbor, and her loss to her family, to her ohur~h, to which she was so devoted, and to her friends and neighbors is almnost irrepara ble. She was beloved by all wino knew her, and her untimely taking iff is mourned by the entire community. But her lose to her family and friends is her eternal gain. Her spirit, has returned unto God who gave It, to receive'Ithe reward reserived ~r all tihe 'people of God. Her remaings were interred at the Presbyterian church in this place. To the bereaved and sorrowing husband we tender our heartfelt sympathies. -~ Mrs. Lawrence was tine widow of thne le pDr. J. N. Lawrence and was in her fifty third year. Although not a member of any chnurch, she had lived a Godly glife, and was much esteemed and beloved by all her friends and acquaintances. C., F. and H1. said, as they called for second cups. We have not learned the amount realized, but feel assured from the crowded rooms that consideTable money was taken in. 'The membership of the church is small, but the energy displayed was great. Deacon K. was all around, and always to be found when needed. lie and *W. L. D. wore the lights of the room. Miss L. F. and Mary always had their tables full, while Mrs. W. and Mrs. L. kept the kitchen fire burning and everything nice and hot. Amongthe attractions of the evening was a large magic lantern, figures of life siz3, which was kindly shown by Mr. Lindsey, for the benefit of the church. At the close of the entertainment several large cakes were sold, and, if I heard aright, Elder W. was "sold," also.
