Twenty Trained Elephants.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2d, Adam Forepaugh's
Colossal- Combination of Circus in two rings,
Mammoth Menagerie and.Museu m is. to ex
hibit, afternoon and evening, at Greenvillo.
The present is the seventeenth consecutive
traveling season of tils famous combination.
A recent exchange, alluding to it, says:
"Forepaugh never had a poor selow. He is
one of the few circus owners who has always
exhibited all he advei timed; he has the largest
and the best tented exhibition traveling, and
any one of Its myriad distinctive features,
stih as the twenty performing elephants, Ihe
twenty-two trained stallions, the trained gi
raffes, the wonderful troupe of bicyclers, the
surprising feat of Zuila riding avelocipede ov
er a - inch wire 100'fcet from the ground; or
of 'Loyal, tho man-meteor, who is blown from
a cannon-any one of these, or a hundred
othors equally ne and novel features, is well
worth the admission to the entire exhibition.
The circus is on so gigantic a plan as to re,
quire two great rings. The menagerie contains
nearly every rare animal known to natural
history."
