Mr. E. F. Allgood has put up a

this place. In addition to the shingle
machine, Mr. Aligood runs a eirenlar

BURNED TO I)EATH.-A daughter of
Mr. WVilliam Hlunnicutt, who lives on
the plantation of Mr. James K. Kirk..
soy, about six miles North of this
place, wuas fatally burned on last Fri
day. Mlrs. IHunuiicutt was at the
oranch washing, uand Lou, the girl,
aged about 13 years, wa~s at the house
cooking dinner, and while doinug some1
thing about the fire place her' clo th
ing caught on fire. She attempted to:
put it out and used all the water in
the house in hecr etforts, but failed,
when she stalrted runing? to her1
mother. Mrs. Hunnientt saw her
child coming, met 1her anid punt out the
fire; but it was too latilTe chiild
was so badly bur'nt that she (lied
from the eficcts on the following day
about 4 o'clnck P. M. The sad death
is very distressing to the parents,
( who have the deep sympathy of tihe
community in which they live.
Five of the Nihilist who were con,
nected with the assassinationi of the
Czar of Russia, were hung on the 15th

Mr. Jonathan C. Dark was found dead
in his piazza at Liberty Station.
Coroner Kirksey was immediately
infor'ned of the fact, and at once had
a jury summoned and fheld an inquest
over the dead body. Mr. Dark cam
from Columbia to this section direct.
