E. 1harlo, formerly of Greenville, but who is now residing in Washington, was married in Fhila dolpin, on the 12th instant, to Mrs. Mary Orr Prevost, daughter of Ex.. Governor Orr. The PeIsor Manufacturing Compa ny who propose to build a cotton fiactory on Saluda River, near Williamston, have opened books of subscription. The capital stock is to be $400,000, and within a short timo after the books were opened, 8800,O0 of the amount was taken. The other $100,000 will be raised without any trouble. This is evidence that there aM plenty of capital in our State to build manufactorics, and that it will bo freely invested where an honest effort is made to obtain it. Thuis is no Columbia Canal swindle. The body of a female mnfant' was found in the pond of the lower Cam.. perdown mill, says the Greenville Advertiser, at the head of the race, , on last Friday morning. The coro ner hold an Inquest over it, but no evidence 4s to how it came there was8 adduced.
