THE.SUN FOR 1881
Everybody reads THE SUN. In the edi,
lions of this newspaper throughout the year
to come everybody will find:
I. All the world's news, so presented that
the reader will get the greatest amount of in
formation with the least unprofitable expen,.
diture or time and eyesight. Turn BUN long
ago discovesed the golden mean between re,
dundant, fulness and unsatisfactory brevity.
11, Much of that sort of news which de
pends less upon its recognized Importance
than upon its interest to mankind. From
morning to morning Turn BsN prints a con
tinued story of the jives of real men and wo
men, and of their deeds, plans, loves, hates,
and troubles. This story is more varied and
more interesting than any romance that was
ever devised.
111. Good writing in every column, and
freshness, originality, accuracy, and decorum
in the treatment of every subject.
IV. Ifonest comment. Tu SUN'S habit is
to speak out fearlessly about men And things.
V. Equal candor In dealing with each po..
litical party, and equal readiness to commend
what is. praiseworthy or to rebuke what is
blamable in Democrat, or Republican.
VI. Absolute independence of partisan or,
ganizations, but unwavering loyalty to true
Diemocratic p~rinoiples. The Sun bellieves that
the ,Government which the Constitution gives
Ud is a good one to keep. it. notion of duty
is to, restaL to its utmost power the efforts of
men in the Republican party to set up anoth
er form of ,g.vernmlent in place of that which
exiets. Tle gy~ 1881 and the years ireme
diately following .ii.1 .probably decide this
supremely imnpora'spt noptest. The Bun be
lieves that the victory will be with the peo
pie as against the Rig f or monopoly, the
Rings for plunder, and the Jlpgs for impe
rial power.
Our terms are as follows:
For the Daily SUw, a four page sheet of
t wenty eight columns, the price by mail, post
paid, is 56 cents a month, or $6.60 a year;
or, including the Bunday paper, an eight page
